Rest Like Royalty

Activities are often what make a trip memorable, so it pays to plan the main ones in advance. Start with what interests you most, then build the rest of your days around it.

• Book popular activities early. Boat trips, museum tickets and guided city tours can sell out in high season.
• Check the duration and start time. Leave enough time between activities and allow for travel across the city.
• See what is included. Some tours include transfers, entrance fees or meals; others do not. Compare the options on each activity page.
• Think about who is coming. Look for age requirements, accessibility information and options that suit children or older travellers.

Combining one or two booked activities with free time to explore on your own usually makes for the most relaxed trip.

A few simple steps help your activity start on time and go as planned.

• Check the meeting point. Find the exact meeting point or pickup location in your booking details and plan how you will get there.
• Arrive a little early. Tours and timed tickets usually start on schedule, and late arrivals may not be able to join.
• Bring what you need. Keep your booking confirmation and an ID with you, and wear clothes and shoes that suit the activity and the weather.
• Follow the guide's instructions. For outdoor and water activities, listen carefully to the safety briefing. Some activities may be changed if the weather is poor.

Afterwards, take a moment to note what you enjoyed most. It makes choosing your next tour or experience much easier.
